SLMQ conducted its Independence Day Competitions among Sri Lankan children living in Qatar for the fourteenth consecutive year on Friday, 24 February 2017 from 1.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. at the Sri Lanka Embassy premises. The competition included Public Speaking, and Colouring while the Essay Writing and Drawing Competitions were concluded earlier on 03 February 2017.
The public speaking competition was adjudged by senior toast masters from Doha Toast Masters Club, while art and drawing specialists from Sri Lankan School adjudged drawing and coloring competitions. Two senior academics judged the essay writing competition. The prizes and certificates were awarded to the winners by the Charge D’Affairs at the Embassy of Sri Lanka, H.E. Mrs. K.H.C. Sankapali.
